Choose the screen size only after confirming the enclosure cutout, active area, viewing distance, interface layout and rear installation depth. Two monitors with the same nominal screen size may have different outer dimensions and mounting points.

What is an open frame touch monitor?
An open frame touch monitor is a display-and-touch unit designed to be integrated into a kiosk, machine, control cabinet or custom enclosure. It normally combines an LCD panel, touch sensor, touch controller, display electronics and an open metal chassis, but does not use the finished outer housing or desktop stand found on a standard monitor. The open structure allows equipment manufacturers to install the monitor behind their own front panel or enclosure.
How is an open frame touch monitor different from a standard touchscreen monitor?
The main difference is the mechanical structure and installation method. A standard touchscreen monitor normally has a finished housing, bezel and desktop or wall-mount design. An open frame touchscreen monitor is built for OEM equipment integration and usually exposes its rear chassis, mounting brackets and connection panel. Depending on the model, it may support rear mounting, integrated brackets, VESA mounting or a project-specific installation structure.
Does an open frame touch monitor include a computer?
Usually, no. An open frame touch monitor normally provides the display and touch-input functions, while the operating system and application run on an external industrial PC, embedded computer, Android controller or other host device. Video, touch data and power are connected separately unless the selected configuration supports a combined connection. Projects that require a built-in computer should use a touchscreen all-in-one or panel PC configuration instead.
How do I choose the right screen size?
Choose the screen size after confirming the enclosure opening, active display area, outer monitor dimensions, installation depth, viewing distance and user-interface layout. The nominal diagonal size alone is not enough because two monitors with the same screen size can have different aspect ratios, active areas, chassis dimensions and mounting-hole positions. Also confirm the required resolution, landscape or portrait orientation, touch-target size and available maintenance space inside the equipment.
What enclosure dimensions should I provide?
Please provide the front-panel cutout width and height, available internal width and height, maximum rear depth, front overlap area and enclosure-panel thickness. A complete drawing should also show mounting-hole positions, cable-exit direction, connector clearance, ventilation space and the required screen orientation. Providing a STEP, DWG, DXF or clearly dimensioned PDF drawing helps XFC review mechanical compatibility more accurately. Which mounting methods are available?
Available mounting methods depend on the selected model and equipment structure. What is the difference between PCAP and resistive touch?

Resistive touch responds to physical pressure and can usually be operated with a finger, glove or stylus, but it commonly offers lower optical clarity and fewer touch points. Can an open frame monitor support multi-touch?
Yes, an open frame monitor can support multi-touch when it uses a compatible touch sensor, controller and firmware. PCAP is commonly selected for gesture-based interfaces such as pinch, zoom, rotate and multi-finger operation. However, the supported number of touch points is model-specific and must also be compatible with the host operating system and application. Which video and touch interfaces are available?

Some industrial or legacy configurations may also use RS-232 serial touch communication. Power may require a separate DC input, even when USB-C is used for video or touch. Does it support Windows, Android or Linux?
Windows, Android and Linux compatibility may be available, depending on the touch controller, USB HID support, driver requirements and external host computer. A display-only open frame monitor does not run an operating system by itself; it displays video from the connected computer and sends touch data back to that host. Is a high-brightness or sunlight-readable option available?
